In today's post, I'm gonna show you a couple different tricks that will allow you to listen to YouTube in the background on your phone or with your phone screen off so this is perfect for listening to YouTube while you're at work or school, and you're not allowed to have your phone open and on and none of this will require you to have. You probably know that the default YouTube app turns off the video as soon as the screen light is turned off. However, many of us use the YouTube app to listen to music. Here I will talk about two methods. OK, so let's get started.
Method 1 :
Through this method, we will know how can we play YouTube videos by turning off the display light of the phone by using an app.
First, there used to be an app called Black me. You can download it from the Play Store very easily. Go to the Play Store and search and type Black me. Then you can download and install it. Now you should open this app.
Method 2 :
Through this method, we will know how can we play YouTube videos by turning off the display light of the phone by using a Browser.
YouTube premium or YouTube read anything like that and then one more thing to note I'll be doing this on an Android phone, but it'll be very similar if you're using iPhone or any other phone system the tips I'll be showing you will be using fundamental features in your phone so lets gonna get started the first tip is going to be in Chrome what we're gonna do is go to YouTube.com, and then we're going to select the three little dots on the top right of the Chrome browser we're going to select desktop site, so it's going to reload YouTube, and it's gonna kind of look like it would on a Chromebook or a desktop computer, and now I'm just going to select a video and as you can see the video is playing we're hearing some noise now if I go to my home screen the video stops playing all I need to do is swipe in my notifications I'll see this notification here, and I just need to select play and then the audio starts playing I could turn off my screen audio keeps playing, and then I can also pause it and play it with my screen locked if I want to get rid of it just swipe it away so that's how you do it in Chrome if it doesn't work in Chrome I recommend downloading Firefox and doing the same thing there it'll look like this so in Firefox just hit the little menu at the top right, and then you select request desktop site that will load the desktop version of YouTube
I'll select the video once the video starts playing I can go to my home screen and then
I have the notification right here and actually continue playing
I can turn off my screen, and it's still playing then when I go back to my lock screen here
I can also pause it so those are pretty basic parts of this tutorial but what do you do if every time you try that it opens it up in the YouTube app so if that's happening what you need to do is find the settings right here in your list of apps and then select apps and notifications then see all apps right here and then in here we're gonna find YouTube we're going to select it we're gonna go to advanced and then from here open by default so what you need to do is select open supported links, and you can select ask every time that'll give you the option to open it up in the app, or you can do don't open in this app that's going to prevent it from opening up the YouTube app so those three tips should be enough to get it so that you can watch YouTube in the background over with your screen off if those don't work for you, and you're still interested in trying it check the description I have a video that I've done where you can download an app, and it'll allow you to play YouTube in the background on your phone so that should be helpful for you but hopefully this works for you, and it solved your problem of being able to listen to YouTube in the background over with your screen off if you've any questions about this leave a comment below we'll get back to you as soon as I can if you'd like to see more YouTube tutorial videos check the link in the description if this video helped you give it a thumbs up and please consider subscribing to my channel engaging gadgets for gadget reviews and tech tutorials thank you so much for watching
